US institutes new Russia sanctions in response to SolarWinds hack By  EN  - April 15, 2021 A White House order issued Thursday morning directs the US government to expel ten diplomats and place a range of new sanctions on Russian individuals and assets in response to the SolarWinds hack. Music producer, four others nabbed for alleged cybercrime By  emmacitynews  - April 16, 2021 Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday April 16, 2021, arrested one Imeh Henshaw Nyong, a music producer and four others for alleged internet fraud in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Nyong was arrested alongside Benjamin Ikpeme, Godwin Isong, Magnus Chimaobi and Victor Usun. The suspects, whose ages range between 22 and 25 years, were arrested in an early morning raid at two locations in the state, based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in cybercrime. While Nwele was arrested at 23 Calabar Itu Road by Urua Ikpa junction, Nyong and the other three were nabbed at 25 Faith Road, Off Ikot Ekpene Road, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Enugu CP condemns brutality against police personnel By emmacity news    - April 16, 2021 The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mohammad Aliyu, has condemned all forms of brutality against the police, and described the menace as bad narratives against the force. Aliyu made the condemnation on Friday in Enugu, when members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, Enugu State chapter, paid him a courtesy visit at the state police headquarters. He said the bad narratives which were one-sided, had given the police force an unfavorable image and made Nigerians to see police officers as their enemies. Aliyu, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, expressed regrets that the law enforcement agents were singled out for attack by the same people they protected. According to a press statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Adewale Osifeso, and made available to newsmen on Friday evening, the release of the abducted victims, Mrs Temitope Okeowo, Mrs Abosede Adebayo and Mrs Bola Ogunrinde, was a result of pressure and meaningful intelligence from police along with effective utilization of local hunters and vigilantes. The statement added that the effective utilisation of local hunters and vigilantes who under the supervision of the police, combed the suspected location in search of the abducted victims before recording the breakthrough, even though the location where the victims were rescued was not stated. Jalige said that on March 22, at about 08000hrs, the command received a complaint through DPO Zonkwa from a citizen of Fadere village, Lere Local Government Area of the state.
